Probably one of the top 3 NFS titles I've played. Where did they go wrong recently (ie the last 8 years)?

HP2 was awesome on PS2. I had the PS2 version and the 'Cube version. The 'Cube version was like a totally different (and worse) game.

Actually the PS2 version was made by a different developer than the Gamecube/Xbox/PC versions were, and was in fact a much better game. Better graphics, better gameplay, etc.

But you're stuck with the PS2 controller.

So nuts when the helicopter starts dropping bombs. lol.
Top speed I ever achieved...Mercedes Benz CLK GTR NFS version 321 km/h or 199 mph.

When your car hit the spike strip and did the thing, your heart sank.

I do agree with that part. I can't believe after 20 years they're still using the same damn controller. I HATED that controller. It was cool in 1995 because it was so different, but good grief it's so uncomfortable and the analog thumb-sticks are in a poor location. Even when occasionally playing my PS2 now, I can't stand that controller.
Sega got controller ergonomics on the right path with the Dreamcast and then Microsoft took that same basic design and fine-tuned it with each progressive generation of the XBox. Though their original "Duke" controller was terrible, the "S" controller was fantastic and it's been an evolution of that ever since.

The Xbone controller is the best I've ever used. So comfortable.

Agreed. I love the One's controller and those shoulder triggers are p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

Once, I hit the spikes (in the GTR I believe) right as the cop gave up, so my momentum carried me through the end of the chase. That was awesome, but despite my best efforts my car eventually and very slowly came to a halt and I was stuck. Not busted, but the car couldn't drive on it's rim anymore. How disappointing.

0:38 LOL, a powerslide is not going to be the result of you throwing your Murci into a ditch.
